Vicky Gellis

(She/Her) IBCLC

Vicky Gellis is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and SDBFC’ administrative assistant.

Vicky grew up in NY and moved to California to complete her lactation consultant training and certificate at the University of California, San Diego. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Child and Adolescent Mental Health from New York University. She spent years conducting research on child motor development.

Vicky has worked with children her whole life in many different capacities and wanted to expand her work to birthing and breast/chestfeeding families. During her doula training, she realized that her clients’ births were just the start of their journey as new parents and that they needed additional support. She became passionate about helping moms through both their births and breast/chestfeeding journey.

Vicky lives in San Diego, CA with her husband Austin. She loves to rock climb, bike, read, and travel the world.

Vicky’s Story:

They say it takes a village and I feel so thankful to be able to help and empower new parents to confidently care for their little one. So many families are tackling it on their own and I want to ensure that they have the resources and encouragement every step of the way.

I believe in a model of continued support through the birth, early days, months, and years of raising a little one. I love each family’s unique story and I appreciate being able to follow them through their breastfeeding journey.

I’m excited to be a part of SDBFC because they truly are a beacon in San Diego and they offer so much more than just breastfeeding help. They provide postpartum support in so many ways with classes and workshops on sleep, infant massage, introducing solids, going back to work, and all conveniently in one place. Connecting families with all of the professionals and resources they need is what has helped them create such a beautiful community.
