Bottle Feeding Consultation

 

90-minute In-office consultation - starting at $170

This consultation should take place, ideally, at 3-5 week postpartum, to introduce bottles at an optimum time. Bottle feeding is a skill that needs to be practiced so it can continue to be part of a baby’s feeding repertoire. This consultation is also appropriate for any families experiencing bottle refusal.

We accept the following insurances: Aetna PPO/POS, Tricare West, UCSD HMO, Cigna PPO, Anthem PPO, Blue Shield PPO, Blue Cross PPO, and United Healthcare PPO/HMO **Pending Insurance Verification. All HMO plans require a referral from your primary care provider. Please call our office if you have questions about getting your HMO approval.

These private visits are for breast/chestfeeding parents who are wanting to review the best method to introduce bottles/formula, how to handle bottle refusal, and to come up with a feeding plan that includes bottles and protects nursing parent’s milk supply. 


What Takes Place During a bottle feeding Consultation?

  • Review when/how to pump and introduce a bottle while still protecting breastfeeding

  • Review tips and tricks for fussiness with the bottle/ bottle refusal and for when babies have difficulty transferring milk

  • Access our full “bottle bar” to find a bottle that best suits your baby

  • Breast/chestfeeding parent will receive a customized Plan of Care, which may include: Recommendations for bottles, techniques to encourage bottle feeding, and tips for protecting milk supply while incorporating bottles regularly.
